Errol Musk, father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, has been accused of decades-long sexual abuse by five of his children and stepchildren, according to a report by The New York Times published Tuesday.
The earliest allegation dates back to 1993, when a four-year-old stepdaughter reportedly told relatives that Errol had inappropriately touched her at the family home. The same woman later alleged he had sniffed her soiled underwear. Other family members accused him of abusing two daughters and a stepson.
The Times, citing court records, social work documents, correspondence, and interviews, reported that Errol Musk — who has at least nine children and stepchildren from three marriages — maintains significant control over parts of the family. Two investigations into the allegations reportedly ended without charges; the status of a third remains unclear.
Errol Musk has denied all accusations, calling them “nonsense” and “false.” He alleged that some family members were being manipulated into making claims as part of an attempt to extort Elon Musk. “There was no evidence because this is nonsense,” he said.
Elon Musk did not comment on the story. However, he has previously spoken about his strained relationship with his father. In a 2017 interview with Rolling Stone, Elon described Errol as someone capable of “almost every evil thing you could possibly think of,” and said moving in with him at age 10 was “not a good idea.”
“My dad will have a carefully thought-out plan of evil. He will plan evil,” Elon told the magazine at the time.
