The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the attempted assassination of Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the upcoming November 25 Anambra State governorship election.
Ezenwafor was reportedly shot by unidentified gunmen near Wuse 2, Abuja, while returning from a private engagement.
Confirming the incident, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack.
“The police command has yet to conclude investigations as to the true position and situation surrounding the incident,” Adeh stated.
She urged members of the public with relevant information to come forward, stressing that community cooperation is essential to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
“While investigation is currently in top gear, individuals or persons with relevant information are advised to report to the nearest police station. Your cooperation will greatly assist our investigation and help ensure justice is served.”
