Iga Swiatek delivered a flawless performance to claim her first Wimbledon title on Saturday, demolishing Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in just 57 minutes and proving she’s now a force to reckon with on grass.
The 24-year-old Polish star, seeded eighth, has now won all six Grand Slam finals she has contested, adding Wimbledon to her haul of four French Open titles and one US Open crown.
Swiatek becomes the eighth consecutive first-time women’s champion at Wimbledon since Serena Williams claimed her seventh and final title at the All England Club in 2016.
Dominant from the first point, Swiatek allowed her American opponent no room to settle. Anisimova, seeded 13th and fresh off a stunning upset of world number one Aryna Sabalenka in the semi-finals, struggled under pressure and appeared visibly nervous under the scorching Centre Court sun.
She was broken in the opening game and quickly fell 0-4 behind, double-faulting to hand Swiatek key points. The first set was over in just 25 minutes, with the American winning only six points on serve and committing 14 unforced errors.
Anisimova never recovered. Despite brief flashes of resistance and vocal crowd support, she was unable to halt Swiatek’s relentless pace. The Polish star remained composed, sealing the second set — and the championship — with equal ruthlessness before consoling her visibly shaken opponent.
Swiatek’s title run at Wimbledon came just two weeks after reaching the final in Bad Homburg — a sign of her rapid adaptation to grass, the only surface where questions had lingered about her dominance.
She dropped just one set throughout the tournament, further cementing her status as the game’s most consistent Grand Slam performer.
