Rasmus Højlund spared Manchester United from a third straight Premier League defeat with a stoppage-time equaliser in a 1-1 draw against 10-man Bournemouth on Sunday.
Antoine Semenyo fired the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute after a defensive error, and United laboured to respond in another lifeless display.
Bournemouth’s Evanilson was controversially sent off in the 70th minute after a VAR review upgraded his yellow card for a challenge on Noussair Mazraoui, despite appearing to slip.
United, on the verge of a fourth defeat in five league games, finally broke through in the 96th minute when Højlund tapped in Luke Shaw’s flicked-on cross.
Rúben Amorim’s side remain 14th in the table and are set for their worst-ever Premier League points total. With the Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao looming, significant improvement will be needed to salvage anything from a dismal season.
