APC holds NEC meeting in Abuja amid heavy security

Leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have gathered at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting.

Security around the venue on Blantyre Street is tight, with a combined team of armed security personnel, including soldiers from the Guards Brigade, cordoning off the area. Both vehicular and pedestrian movement around the location have been restricted, and journalists, despite having been accredited earlier this morning by the APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, are being kept outside.

Among the early arrivals are members of the National Working Committee (NWC), the Forum of State Chairmen, former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari, Minister of Budget and National Planning Atiku Bagudu, and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.

Party leader President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas are all expected to attend the meeting.

The NEC meeting follows a national caucus gathering held just a day earlier at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
