Ikeja Electric Plc has attributed the reduction in electricity supply hours across its network to a shortfall in power allocated to it from the national grid.
The electricity distribution company disclosed this in a public notice dated October 19, 2026, and signed by its management.
“We wish to inform customers across Ikeja Electric network that the reduced hours of electricity supply is due to a shortfall in the amount of power currently allocated to our network from the national grid,” the notice read.
The company acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the reduced supply and appealed to customers for patience and understanding.
“We understand the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding,” it stated.
Ikeja Electric said it was engaging relevant stakeholders to increase the volume of electricity available to its network and improve supply to customers.
“Please be assured that we are actively engaging the relevant stakeholders to improve the available power supply and will continue to distribute the power received from the grid as efficiently and equitably as possible,” the notice added.
The company also assured customers that it would continue to provide updates as the situation develops.
“We remain committed to keeping you informed as the situation evolves,” it said.
