Popular comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Adedayo Martins, known as DeeOne, has emerged as the Lagos State House of Assembly candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I ahead of the 2027 general election.
DeeOne secured the ticket of the BOOT Party after winning its primary election.
He announced his emergence on Wednesday night in a post on his Instagram page, expressing gratitude to party members for entrusting him with the mandate.
The comedian also pledged to serve the people of Ibeju-Lekki if elected, promising a leadership style centred on service delivery.
“I want to thank my party, BOOT Party, for the confidence in voting for me to emerge winner of the primary election for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I,” he wrote.
Addressing constituents, he said: “To Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, come 2027, by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss.”
His emergence adds to the growing list of entertainers venturing into politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
The Lagos State House of Assembly election is expected to draw significant attention as political parties intensify preparations for the next general election.
