Dapo Abiodun has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the Ogun East Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The primary election was conducted across the nine local government areas of the district, with the results announced at Itoro Hall in Ijebu-Ode by the returning officer, Wale Bello.
According to Bello, Abiodun secured 75,560 votes from a total of 99,503 registered voters to clinch the party’s senatorial ticket.
In his acceptance speech, the Ogun State governor attributed his victory to divine grace and the overwhelming support of APC members and loyalists across the district.
Abiodun expressed appreciation to party supporters for the confidence reposed in him, pledging not to betray the trust placed in his leadership.
The APC primary forms part of the party’s nationwide preparations for the 2027 general elections.
