The committee said it concluded its assignment on May 10, 2026, commending aspirants, party officials and security agencies for their cooperation and orderly conduct throughout the screening process.
It also confirmed that all 29 incumbent lawmakers, led by Deputy Speaker Dumle Maol, were cleared to participate in the APC primaries for the 2027 Rivers State House of Assembly elections. The Speaker, Martin Amaewhule, was reportedly among those who obtained nomination forms for the House of Representatives.
According to the report, disqualifications were based on several factors, including nomination by non-financial members, alleged inducement or bribery attempts, submission of unsworn affidavits, failure to provide voter cards or party membership slips, inconsistencies in personal data such as dates of birth, documentation irregularities, and invalid or insufficient nominators.
