The 2023 governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Oladipupo Adebutu, has formally declared his intention to contest the state’s governorship seat in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was contained in a letter addressed to PDP leaders at both the state and local government levels, and made available to journalists on Friday by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya.

Dated April 30, 2026, the letter was directed to the Ogun State PDP chairman through the party’s Odogbolu Local Government chapter.

In it, Adebutu expressed gratitude to party leaders and members for their continued support, while stressing the need for unity and shared purpose as the party prepares for the next electoral cycle.

He also highlighted his longstanding involvement in the PDP, pointing to his contributions toward strengthening the party’s structure and presence across the state.

Describing himself as a loyal party member and law-abiding citizen, Adebutu said his decision to run again is driven by a desire to build on past experience and deliver impactful governance.
