APC releases timetable for primaries, pegs presidential form at ₦100m

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable for the 2027 general elections, fixing its presidential primary for May 15 and 16, 2026.

According to the schedule signed by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, the party will begin the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms on April 25 at its national secretariat, with the exercise closing on May 2, 2026. Submission of completed forms will end on May 4.

The party pegged its presidential expression of interest and nomination forms at ₦100 million, ₦30 million for expression of interest and ₦70 million for nomination.

Governorship aspirants will pay ₦50 million, while Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly forms cost ₦20 million, ₦10 million and ₦6 million respectively.

Screening of aspirants is scheduled for May 6 to May 8, with results to be released on May 11. Appeals will be heard between May 12 and May 13.

The presidential primary will hold on May 15 and 16, while governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State Assembly primaries are slated for May 23, May 21, May 20 and May 18 respectively.

All election appeals are expected to be concluded by May 25, with the party completing all primaries within an eight-day window.

The APC also announced concessions for female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities, who will pay only for expression of interest forms and 50 per cent of nomination fees.

The party said the timetable aligns with the provisions of the Constitution, the Electoral Act, and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines.
