The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the timetable for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II orientation course, scheduled to begin on April 22 nationwide.
In a statement on Wednesday, signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the scheme said the 21-day exercise will take place simultaneously in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The statement outlined: “The Orientation Course will commence with reception and registration of Prospective Corps Members on Wednesday, 22nd April 2026, and end at midnight on Friday, 24th April 2026.”
Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) will be formally sworn in on Friday, April 24, while the orientation program is expected to conclude on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.
The NYSC also urged PCMs to prioritise safety while travelling to camps, warning against night journeys.
“Prospective Corps Members are advised to stop their journey by 6:00 pm and spend the night at any available Corps Members’ Lodge, military formation, police station/outpost, or palace of a traditional ruler, before continuing the following morning,” the statement said.
The scheme wished all prospective corps members safe travels to their respective camps.
This announcement follows a previous update that supplementary online registration for recently uploaded PCMs would take place from April 9 to April 11, 2026.
“Supplementary online registration for recently uploaded prospective corps members commences Thursday, 9th – Saturday, 11th April 2026,” the NYSC posted on its X account.
PCMs were advised to prepare all required documents and personal information in advance to ensure a smooth registration process.
