EFCC hands over recovered funds to NNPCL
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Thursday announced the handover of N3,936,145,822 in recovered funds to Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited.

The presentation was made on behalf of the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, by the Secretary to the Commission, Mohammed Hammajoda, during a brief ceremony at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja, according to an official statement.

Speaking at the event, Hammajoda reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to tackling economic and financial crimes, noting that the recovered funds were the result of thorough investigations and the uncovering of fraudulent activities involving some actors within the NNPC.

“On behalf of the Executive Chairman, we will continue to put ourselves on the line to serve over 220 million Nigerians,” he said.

He acknowledged the risks associated with the Commission’s work, adding that some personnel had made significant sacrifices in the line of duty, while others would continue to do so in pursuit of justice and accountability.

“We will serve and continue to serve this country with courage and integrity,” he added, formally presenting the recovered sum to the NNPC.

Receiving the funds on behalf of the company, Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau, expressed appreciation to the EFCC for its role in the recovery.

He described the development as a testament to institutional collaboration and national unity, noting that the NNPC has remained committed to reforming its systems and addressing longstanding challenges.

Dagazau added that the company looks forward to sustained cooperation with the EFCC in strengthening transparency and accountability going forward.
