The Federal Government has reported that Nigeria’s non-oil exports reached $6.1 billion in 2025.
The announcement was made by Nonye Ayeni, Executive Director of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC), during a news briefing on Monday.
Ayeni highlighted that the figure represents an 11.5% increase compared to the $5.4 billion recorded in December 2024.
She noted that the top three export destinations for the year were the Netherlands, Brazil, and India. Additionally, 1.23 million metric tonnes of goods were exported to 11 Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) countries, with Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Togo, and Benin leading in trade volume.
However, Ayeni explained that the exit of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger contributed to a decline in trade within the ECOWAS sub-region and across Africa.
The report also revealed that 281 products, including agricultural commodities as well as processed and semi-processed goods, were exported in 2025. Key non-oil exports included cocoa, sesame seeds, urea, soya beans, and rubber, among others.
