Ned Nwoko breaks silence, alleges Regina battling with drug abuse

Senator Ned Nwoko has spoken out following the circulation of a viral video showing his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, in visible distress. In a statement shared on his Instagram page on Sunday, Nwoko described her recent actions as “drug-influenced” and “unprovoked carnage,” alleging that substance abuse lies at the heart of their marital crisis.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drug and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem,” he wrote, adding that she must continue her rehabilitation or risk serious harm.

According to the senator, the actress allegedly went on a violent outburst at their home in his absence, during which she attacked staff members and damaged property.

“She slapped and hit three staff in the past 48 hours and destroyed property, including cars and windows, for no just cause,” he claimed. “Now, she has moved to a place where she will have unrestricted access to drugs.”

Nwoko said he had offered Daniels two rehabilitation options—either in Asokoro, Abuja or Jordan—where he said she would be kept away from drugs and receive proper care. He also accused her close associates of exacerbating the situation.

“While I took Moon to the hospital, a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier. Another known supplier of drugs to her is the tiny evil devil called Ann,” he alleged.

His post followed widespread reactions to a viral video that emerged on Saturday, showing Daniels visibly agitated during a confrontation. In the clip, she is heard saying: “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a queen. Not again. I can’t stand the violence, it’s too much.”

Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman, known publicly as Sammy West also took to Instagram, accusing Nwoko of assaulting his sister and threatening to take action.

“Anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood,” he wrote.

As of the time of this report, Regina Daniels and her representatives have not issued a public response to the senator’s claims. The exact cause of the altercation remains unclear.

Daniels and Nwoko married in 2019, a union that has drawn consistent public interest due to their significant age gap of nearly four decades. The couple, often seen together in public and on social media, have previously presented a united front despite occasional controversy.
