President Bola Tinubu on Friday, September 19, 2025, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna State.
He was received by Buhari’s widow, Aisha Buhari, who welcomed the President on behalf of the family and their children. Tinubu was accompanied by Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, several state governors, ministers, senators, and other senior government officials.
Earlier in the day, President Tinubu also attended the wedding ceremony of Nasirudeen Yari, son of former Zamfara State governor, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, and Safiyya Idris. The event took place at the Sultan Bello Mosque in Kaduna.
President Muhammadu Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at The London Clinic after a prolonged illness. His body was flown back to Nigeria, where President Tinubu received the remains at Katsina Airport.
A full state funeral was held in honour of the former leader, including military honours, gun salutes, and ceremonial processions befitting a former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. Islamic rites were observed prior to his interment in his hometown of Daura.
