Nancy Sabanti Nathan has been appointed as the Acting Head of Service (HoS) of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), pending the confirmation of a substantive appointment.
The announcement was made on Tuesday by Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. According to the statement, the appointment takes immediate effect.
“Mrs. Nancy Sabanti Nathan, mni, has been appointed as Acting Head of Service of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA),” the statement read. “She was appointed in an acting capacity, pending the appointment of a substantive Head of Service.”
Nathan’s appointment comes following the passing of the former Head of Service, Grace Adayilo, who died last Monday.
Prior to her new role, Nathan served as the Permanent Secretary of the Youth Development Secretariat within the FCTA. She had also previously held the position of Director of Finance and Administration in the Office of the Honourable Minister of the FCT before her elevation to Permanent Secretary.
Olayinka confirmed that her appointment is effective immediately.
