The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Lagos-based businessman Olasijibomi Ogundele wanted over allegations of diversion of funds and money laundering.
In a notice signed by EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, and posted on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, the Commission urged the public to provide credible information regarding Ogundele’s whereabouts.
“The public is hereby notified that Olasijibomi Ogundele of Sujimoto Luxury Construction Limited, whose photograph appears above, is wanted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in an alleged case of diversion of funds and money laundering,” the notice read.
Ogundele, 44, is an indigene of Ori-Ade Local Government Area in Osun State. His last known address is G29, Banana Island, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The EFCC called on anyone with useful information to contact any of its zonal offices across the country, or reach out via phone (08093322644), email (info@efcc.gov.ng), or through the nearest police station or other security agencies.
Ogundele is the founder and CEO of Sujimoto Luxury Construction, a prominent player in Nigeria’s high-end real estate sector, known for upscale projects in Ikoyi and Banana Island. His company has gained national attention for its luxury developments, reportedly worth billions of naira.
While the EFCC has not disclosed the exact amount involved in the alleged diversion, the declaration marks a significant development in the Commission’s efforts to crack down on financial crimes within the private sector—particularly in the real estate industry, which anti-graft agencies have frequently flagged as a conduit for laundering illicit funds.
The Commission has repeatedly stated its resolve to investigate and prosecute individuals suspected of financial misconduct, whether in politics, the civil service, or the private sector.
