NAF begins recruitment for graduates, postgraduates

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced the commencement of applications for its Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Course 34/2025, inviting qualified Nigerians to apply across a range of specialised fields.

The announcement, made via the NAF’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Tuesday, highlighted the Force’s need for professionals in areas such as engineering, medicine, cyber operations, and other technical disciplines—reflecting its evolving priorities in modern warfare.

Prospective candidates can submit their applications free of charge via the official recruitment portal: https://nafrecruitment.airforce.mil.ng. The application window runs from August 27 to October 7, 2025.

Eligibility requirements

According to the NAF, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
  • Age range: 20 to 32 years. However, medical consultants may apply up to age 40.
  • The programme is not open to serving personnel seeking Branch Commission; personnel above 32 years should not apply.
  • Serving personnel applying must be recommended by their Commanding Officer, must have served a minimum of 10 years, and must have attained the rank of Corporal.
  • Minimum height requirement: 1.66 meters for males and 1.63 meters for females.
  • Must be free from any criminal convictions.
  • Must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit, meeting NAF’s medical and employment standards.
  • Must hold a minimum of Second Class Upper Division degree and possess a NYSC discharge certificate or letter of exemption.

The Zonal Aptitude Test will be scheduled at a later date and communicated via the recruitment portal. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the final selection interview.
