Nigeria’s Super Falcons produced a sensational second-half comeback to defeat Morocco 3–2 in a pulsating Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) clash on Saturday.

Morocco took control early, with Ghizlane Chebbak opening the scoring in the 12th minute, followed by a second from Sanaâ Mssoudy in the 24th minute to give the hosts a 2–0 lead.

Jennifer Echegini then sealed the comeback in dramatic fashion, netting the winner in the 88th minute to hand Nigeria a vital victory.

The Super Falcons dominated key statistics, registering 14 shots to Morocco’s 10, with five on target. They held 55% possession, completed 280 passes at a 69% accuracy rate, and earned five corners compared to Morocco’s three.

Despite the intensity, the match was played cleanly, with no yellow or red cards issued. Nigeria committed seven fouls, while Morocco recorded 12.
