The Federal Government has declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, as public holidays to commemorate Good Friday and Easter Monday.
Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made the announcement in a statement issued on Tuesday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani.
Tunji-Ojo extended warm Easter wishes to Christians nationwide and urged all Nigerians to reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, and compassion exemplified by Jesus Christ.
He also encouraged citizens to use the holiday to pray for peace, unity, and stability in the country, reaffirming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda for national development.
The minister further called on Nigerians to show kindness and extend goodwill to one another, wishing all a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
