UBA unveils upgraded PoS terminal, reinvents MONI app to boost SME growth

United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has unveiled its newly enhanced Point of Sale (PoS) Terminal and upgraded UBA MONI App, marking a significant stride in redefining digital payments and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across the continent.

The launch is part of UBA’s ongoing campaign themed “Innovation for Progress: Empowering SMEs, Connecting Communities, Simplifying Banking.”

The improved PoS terminal is designed to offer greater efficiency, reliability, and ease of use for businesses of all sizes. With features such as instant settlement, real-time transaction monitoring, pay-by-link capability, and a 100% transaction success rate, the device empowers merchants to conduct their operations seamlessly and with increased transparency.

Equipped with advanced technology, the PoS terminals offer flexibility to accommodate diverse business needs—delivering the speed and dependability required by today’s fast-moving commercial environment.

In parallel, UBA has rolled out a revamped version of its MONI App, tailored to strengthen the bank’s growing agency banking network. New features include instant settlement, pay-by-transfer functionality, secret question security, a redesigned homepage, and an enhanced inbox, all contributing to a more intuitive, secure, and user-friendly experience for agents and customers alike.

These upgrades build upon the app’s existing core functionalities, including instant account opening using BVN/NIN, real-time funds transfers, cash deposits and withdrawals, airtime and data top-ups with agent discounts, and instant PoS deployment.
