The younger brother of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, has been arrested by operatives of the Nigeria Police at the Magistrates’ Court in Ogba, Lagos State.
Adura was taken into custody on Wednesday, along with his friend, Ibrahim Koleosho, aka King White, shortly after attending a legal proceeding related to a phone he had sold to one Damola Ayinde.
Earlier, in January, Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, had clashed with actor Yomi Fabiyi during a press briefing over allegations involving Adura. The dispute stemmed from a petition filed by Fabiyi on December 13, 2024, which accused Adura of initiating an Instagram chat in which he allegedly claimed to have video evidence of how Mohbad died. Fabiyi’s petition further accused Adura of demanding N3 million in Bitcoin for the video evidence.
However, Adura denied the accusation, claiming that the chat originated from Ayinde, to whom he had sold the phone. A forensic investigation has been conducted, and the court is continuing its probe into the matter.
Reacting to her son’s arrest, Abosede broke down in tears in a viral video on Wednesday. She pleaded for help to locate Adura, claiming that actor Yomi Fabiyi and one Sam Jojo were responsible for orchestrating his abduction. In the emotional video, she could be heard crying, saying, “Please help me, Nigerians. Yomi Fabiyi and Sam Jojo have taken my son. I don’t know where they’re taking him. My son did nothing to them. They must not harm him; he is sick. Demola, you’ve put me in trouble. Mohbad’s spirit will fight you.”
Earlier in December, Adura had demanded a public apology from Fabiyi, Ayinde, and others, accusing them of hacking his TikTok account to tarnish his reputation. He had also filed an N1 billion lawsuit for defamation, tampering with evidence, and fraudulent claims.
A family source, speaking anonymously, revealed that the arrest was linked to a heated exchange between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the phone issue. “We don’t know where Adura is, but I can confirm that Koleosho was arrested after today’s court proceedings. Everything happened suddenly. We heard there had been an exchange of words between Koleosho and Fabiyi over the phone, and this may have led to the arrest. We don’t know where the security men came from, but we’re trying to locate them,” the source said.
Efforts to reach Fabiyi for comment were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or text messages.
A police source confirmed that the arrests were made by operatives from the Zone 2 Police Command in Onikan, not the Lagos State Command. However, when asked for details about the arrests, the source directed inquiries to the zonal police spokesperson, Ayuba Umma, who did not respond to calls or messages at the time of reporting.
