Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Tuesday after securing a dramatic 4-1 win in a penalty shootout against Liverpool in their thrilling last-16 tie.

Having trailed 1-0 from the first leg in Paris, PSG drew level on aggregate thanks to Ousmane Dembele’s early goal at Anfield. Despite several chances at both ends, neither team could find the back of the net in regular or extra time, sending the tie to penalties.

PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was the hero, saving spot-kicks from Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones. Meanwhile, all four of PSG’s shooters Vitinha, Goncalo Ramos, Dembele, and Desire Doue kept their cool to convert their penalties.

The victory sees PSG, who are still seeking their first Champions League title, progress to the quarter-finals, where they will face either Aston Villa or Club Brugge next month. Villa, who lead 3-1 from the first leg, will host Brugge on Wednesday.
