Ex-NIS Comptroller General, died in hotel room — Police

David Parradang
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has debunked rumors that David Parradang, a retired Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, was kidnapped and killed in Abuja.

In a statement issued by Police Public Relations Officer Josephine Adeh, it was confirmed that Parradang was found dead in his hotel room at a hotel located at Area 3 Junction in Abuja. The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under investigation.

According to the statement, Parradang checked into the hotel around noon on March 3, 2025, after paying N22,000 for a one-night stay. Shortly after his arrival, he was visited by a female guest, whom he instructed hotel staff to escort to his room. The woman departed the premises around 4 pm.

The police explained that Parradang remained in his room overnight, but at approximately 4 am the following day, a concerned friend—identified as a military officer—went to the hotel to check on him. Upon arrival, the officer, along with hotel staff, found Parradang unresponsive and seated in a chair.

Authorities from Durumi Police Station were promptly notified and arrived at the scene to secure evidence and document their findings. Parradang’s body has since been transferred to the National Hospital for further examination.

The police confirmed that hotel staff are fully cooperating with the investigation, and efforts are underway to locate and interview the female guest.
