The abducted National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Olajuni, has been freed after spending 12 days in captivity.
Biodun Aderohunmu, the National Secretary of the Youth Council, confirmed Olajuni’s release in a brief WhatsApp message to our correspondent on Saturday, stating, “He has been released.”
Olajuni was kidnapped on Monday, February 17, 2025, while en route to Abuja for a meeting. The abductors had demanded a ransom of N100 million and two tricycles for his release.
On Wednesday, following a viral video showing Olajuni pleading for help at gunpoint, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to ensure his safe return.
