A five-member panel of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, has dismissed the appeal filed by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, challenging the leadership of the state’s House of Assembly, headed by Martin Amaewhule.
In its ruling, the court awarded a cost of two million naira against Governor Fubara, to be paid to the Rivers State House of Assembly as the first respondent and to Amaewhule as the second respondent.
The dismissal of the appeal came after Fubara’s counsel, Yusuf Ali, withdrew the suit on behalf of the governor.
