Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has signed the N580 billion 2025 appropriation bill into law, following its passage by the State House of Assembly.
The budget, tagged the “Budget of Economic and Infrastructural Consolidation,” is aimed at driving economic growth and delivering key capital projects throughout the 2025 fiscal year.
Explaining the adjustments to the budget, Acting Speaker of the House, Muhammad Samaila Bagudo, stated that the legislature had reallocated funds by reducing the contingency fund from capital expenditures and channeling it toward recurrent expenses. This reallocation is intended to ensure sufficient funds for the payment of 2,000 newly recruited teachers in 2025.
After signing the budget into law, Governor Idris commended the State House of Assembly for its swift approval of the bill. He expressed confidence that the budget would significantly improve the quality of life for the people of Kebbi State, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to its effective implementation and the continued development of the state.
