Dr. Doyin Okupe, a former presidential spokesman, praised President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday for his intelligence, composure, and in-depth understanding of national issues during his first media chat.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, Okupe expressed admiration for the President’s performance during the historic event.

Tinubu’s inaugural presidential media chat, held on Monday night, marked a key moment in his administration’s direct engagement with Nigerians. The broadcast, aired on the Nigerian Television Authority and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, covered a wide range of critical national issues.

“Kudos to the President’s media team for the successful first Presidential Media Chat. President Tinubu was bold, articulate, and demonstrated exceptional clarity in addressing complex issues,” Okupe remarked.

“I must say, he is an outstanding president. Having worked with two former presidents, I can confidently make that assessment,” Okupe added.

During the media chat, which took place at the President’s Lagos residence, Tinubu addressed pressing topics such as the removal of fuel subsidies, proposed tax reforms, governance size, economic reforms, and the fight against corruption. This marked his first such interaction with the media since assuming office nearly 18 months ago.
