President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Lagos on Wednesday, December 18, for his Christmas and New Year celebrations.
The President landed at the Presidential Wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport at exactly 3:23 pm, where he was welcomed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Dr. Femi Hamzat, members of the state cabinet, and leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos.
In a statement confirming his arrival, Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga shared that President Tinubu had earlier presented the 2025 Appropriation Bill to a joint session of the National Assembly before departing Abuja.
During his presentation, the President outlined key priorities of the N47.9 trillion budget proposal, including substantial allocations for security, defense, infrastructure, health, and education. In his 30-minute address, President Tinubu described the budget as the “Restoration Budget,” focused on security, peace, and prosperity for the nation.
The President highlighted major budget allocations: N4.91 trillion for defense and security, N4.06 trillion for infrastructure, N2.4 trillion for health, and N3.5 trillion for education.
This marks the beginning of President Tinubu’s holiday visit to Lagos, where he is expected to spend the festive season.
