A youth corps member deployed to Kebbi State, Tayachibiyacha Ebal, has tragically died after collapsing at the Dakin Gari NYSC orientation camp.
According to reports, the young corps member suddenly collapsed and was immediately rushed to the camp clinic for initial medical attention. She was later transferred to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi for advanced care. Despite the doctors’ best efforts to revive her, she was pronounced dead.
Kebbi State’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Alhaji Muhammad Fingila, confirmed the incident to reporters in Birnin Kebbi. He stated that the remains of the deceased have been sent to her home state, Adamawa.
Fingila described the incident as “unfortunate” and extended condolences to the grieving family on behalf of the Kebbi State government.
Efforts to reach officials from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Kebbi State for comment were unsuccessful, as spokesperson Mrs. Hadiza did not respond to calls or a text message seeking their reaction.
