Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate payment of the new N70,000 national minimum wage for all staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).

In a statement issued on Monday, Grace Adayilo, Acting Head of the Civil Service of the FCT, announced that the approval is aimed at alleviating the challenges faced by FCTA employees.

Adayilo also revealed that the minister had approved the payment of three months’ arrears for all FCTA staff, effective from November 2024. The move is seen as part of Minister Wike’s ongoing commitment to improving the welfare and well-being of FCTA employees.

“The minister’s approval underscores his dedication to the staff’s welfare, and this gesture is intended to motivate the workforce to continue supporting the administration’s efforts to deliver on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” Adayilo said.

The Acting Head of the Civil Service also expressed gratitude to the minister for his consistent promptness in approving staff allowances and claims, which she said boosts morale and encourages efficiency within the administration.
