President Bola Tinubu on Friday posthumously awarded the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR) to the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, in a solemn ceremony held at the National Cemetery in Mogadishu, Abuja.
Speaking at the interment, President Tinubu praised the late General Lagbaja for his exceptional service and significant contributions to national security. He described Lagbaja’s appointment as Chief of Army Staff as one of the finest decisions of his administration.
The event was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Minister of Defence, state governors, and senior military officials.
