Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved the immediate release of appointment letters to 4,000 persons who completed the recent recruitment process into the State Civil Service.
The candidates are expected to commence work on October 2, 2026, while their appointment letters will be dated October 1, which is a public holiday.
Governor Eno approved the recruitment on Friday during the presentation of the recruitment report by the Chairman of the Akwa Ibom State Civil Service Commission, Ekereobong Umoh, at Government House, Uyo.
The latest recruitment exercise has opened another phase in the Akwa Ibom State Government’s efforts to address manpower gaps across the public service, with more than 12,000 candidates reportedly interviewed for the approved vacancies.
Governor Eno, who announced that the 4,000 successful candidates would begin work on October 2nd, also increased the number of employed teachers from 1,000 to 2,000 to strengthen manpower across schools in the 31 local government areas.
The Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, Ekereobong Umoh, noted that the recruitment process was designed to ensure that qualified candidates were selected on merit, including persons living with disabilities and pregnant women.
