Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has appointed six commissioners-designate and four political advisers as part of efforts to strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The Secretary to the Niger State Government, Abubakar Usman, disclosed the appointments in a statement issued on Tuesday and signed by the Information Officer in his office, Abubakar Kuta.
According to the statement, the six commissioners-designate, who are subject to confirmation by the State House of Assembly, are Lucky Barau of Gurara Local Government Area; Isah Wakili of Bosso Local Government Area; Dr Isah Adamu of Kontagora Local Government Area; Emmanuel Alamu of Magama Local Government Area; Shuaibu Saidu Kaboji of Mashegu Local Government Area; and Mohammed Danladi Garba of Borgu Local Government Area.
The governor also approved the appointment of Alhaji Nma Kolo as Chief Political Adviser.
In addition, Yahaya Emilugi, Yusuf Tagwai and Salman Yusuf were appointed Special Advisers on Political Matters for Zones A, B and C, respectively.
The SSG said the appointments were part of the administration’s efforts to strengthen governance, enhance service delivery and promote broader representation across Niger State.
The six commissioners-designate are expected to appear before the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in accordance with the law.
