President Bola Tinubu has directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The directive was conveyed in a statement issued on Tuesday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
According to the President, security agencies have been ordered to step up operations across the affected communities to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore peace.
“I have directed the Armed Forces, police and relevant intelligence agencies to intensify operations across the affected areas to track down the perpetrators swiftly and restore normalcy to the region,” Tinubu said.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture, improving the capacity of security agencies and dismantling criminal networks threatening the country’s peace and stability.
“Our administration has an unwavering commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, equipping response personnel and neutralising criminal networks attempting to disrupt the peace of the nation,” he added.
Tinubu also appealed to residents to support ongoing security operations by providing timely and credible intelligence to aid efforts to prevent further attacks.
“I urge our local communities to cooperate with security forces by providing actionable intelligence that would help early response efforts,” he said.
The President’s directive followed Monday’s attack on Naridon Village, which reportedly claimed about 30 lives, including women and children, while several houses were razed by the assailants.
Condemning the killings, Tinubu described the incident as a “barbaric and cowardly attack” on innocent citizens, saying it was an unprovoked act of terror against defenceless people.
He vowed that those behind the attack would be tracked down and prosecuted, stressing that anyone seeking to undermine the relative peace and improved security in Kaduna State would face the full weight of the law.
The President also extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and the people of Kaduna State.
He assured the affected communities of the Federal Government’s support during this period of mourning and reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to confront insecurity and protect lives and property across the country.
