The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has opened a new service office at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, to expand access to business registration and compliance services for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as part of efforts to improve Nigeria’s ease of doing business.
The facility was commissioned on Monday by the Registrar-General and Chief Executive Officer of the commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji (SAN), according to a statement posted on the CAC’s verified X account.
The commission said the new office would bring its services closer to entrepreneurs while supporting the Federal Government’s efforts to formalise small businesses and promote economic inclusion.
It added that the location was strategically chosen to support ongoing reforms aimed at improving the business environment and encouraging more enterprises to operate within the formal economy.
“The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has commissioned an additional service office at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos, to bring registration and compliance services closer to small business owners and further improve the ease of doing business in Nigeria,” the statement said.
“Commissioned today by the Registrar-General/CEO, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, the new office is strategically established to support the Federal Government’s drive, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, to formalise small businesses and deepen economic inclusion.”
The CAC said the facility is equipped to provide business registration, annual returns filing and other regulatory compliance services, allowing entrepreneurs to complete corporate transactions more efficiently.
“The TBS office is fully equipped to provide seamless business registration, annual returns filing, and other compliance services, enabling SMEs to transact directly with the Commission in a faster, more convenient, and efficient manner,” it added.
The commission said the expansion reflects its commitment to supporting MSMEs, strengthening regulatory compliance and ensuring that business owners have easier access to corporate services.
The opening of the Lagos office is part of the CAC’s broader reforms and digital initiatives aimed at simplifying registration processes, reducing bureaucratic delays and encouraging more businesses to join the formal sector.
The commission noted that increasing formalisation among enterprises remains important for expanding economic participation, improving compliance and supporting Nigeria’s long-term growth.
