The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has unveiled Senator Sarafadeen Alli as its governorship candidate ahead of the 2027 general election, as the party intensifies efforts to consolidate unity and strengthen grassroots mobilisation.

The party also presented Adesoji Adedeji as Alli’s running mate at the unveiling ceremony held in Ibadan, which drew party leaders, stakeholders, candidates, and supporters in a show of solidarity and renewed determination to reclaim power in the state after eight years in opposition.

Speaking at the event, Oyo APC Chairman Moses Adeyemo said the party could no longer afford internal divisions, urging aggrieved members to embrace genuine reconciliation and work collectively toward victory in 2027.

He emphasised unity, discipline, and grassroots mobilisation as key to the party’s success, calling on members to place the party’s collective interest above personal ambitions.

Adeyemo also urged residents of the state and APC supporters to vote for President Bola Tinubu and all party candidates in the forthcoming general election, saying the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda continues to inspire confidence through ongoing economic reforms and governance initiatives.

The event also featured the formal presentation of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination certificate to Senator Alli by APC Deputy National Auditor, Gbenga Olayemi, signalling the party’s readiness to commence its campaign for 2027.

In his acceptance speech, Alli described his emergence as a collective victory for the party across Oyo State, expressing appreciation to Almighty Allah, the APC leadership, and members across the state’s 351 wards and 33 local government areas for their support during the governorship primary.

He also commended the APC National Working Committee, security agencies, women, youths, media practitioners, and National Assembly members for ensuring a peaceful and credible primary election.

Alli praised President Tinubu for his leadership and commitment to economic transformation, political stability, and democratic development in the country.

Extending an olive branch to other aspirants and aggrieved members, he called for forgiveness, reconciliation, and unity in repositioning the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.

He pledged to deliver purposeful and people-centred governance focused on agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, economic growth, accountability, justice, and improved welfare for the people of Oyo State.

The event was attended by several political figures, including Senators Ayoade Adeseun, Olufemi Lanlehin, Hosea Agboola, and Yunus Akintunde; alongside Hannah Ogunesan, Fatai Ibikunle, Yemi Aderibigbe, Wasiu Ajimobi, and Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, among others.
