Otedola acquires additional N43.4 billion First HoldCo shares

First HoldCo Plc Chairman Femi Otedola has acquired additional shares in the company worth approximately N43.41 billion, further increasing his stake in the financial services group.

The transaction was disclosed in a regulatory filing submitted to the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) and signed by Group Company Secretary Abiola Baruwa.

According to the filing, the shares were purchased on May 13, 2026, in a single transaction involving 549,535,653 units at an average price of N79 per share.

Following the latest acquisition, Otedola’s holding in First HoldCo Plc has risen from 8,055,314,486 shares reported in the FY 2025 audited accounts to 8,604,850,139 shares.

The increase lifts his total ownership to about 19.36 percent, marking his largest single purchase since assuming the role of chairman in January 2024.

In a previous transaction on September 25, 2025, Otedola increased his stake in the company with the purchase of 64.87 million shares valued at N2.01 billion.

That earlier acquisition included 39.3 million shares bought directly on September 23 for about N1.2 billion, and a further 25.6 million shares worth N793.6 million purchased indirectly through Calvados Global Services Limited.

Those transactions had previously raised his stake to 16.1 percent, up from 13.15 percent recorded in September 2024.
