Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court on Wednesday sentenced former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, to a cumulative 75 years in prison over corruption linked to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
The court convicted Mamman on a 12-count charge, with Justice Omotosho ruling that the prison terms would run consecutively, resulting in the 75-year sentence.
The judge further ordered that the sentence would take effect from the date of Mamman’s arrest and directed all security agencies to apprehend him wherever he may be found.
In addition, the court ordered the forfeiture of all monies and properties recovered from the former minister to the Federal Government. Mamman was also directed to refund the outstanding balance of the alleged N22 billion connected to the Mambilla and Zungeru hydroelectric power projects.
