FRSC confirms two dead in Kaduna road crash

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna Sector Command, has confirmed two fatalities in a road traffic crash along the Kaduna Western Bypass.

Sector Commander Andre Longkam disclosed this on Sunday in Kaduna, stating that the accident occurred at about 1:45 p.m. at the Federal Eye Centre Junction.

According to him, the crash involved a DAF truck, a Honda car, and a motorcycle.

Preliminary findings indicate that the Honda vehicle collided with the motorcycle, resulting in the death of the rider and a passenger.

“Two persons lost their lives in the crash,” Longkam said.

He added that in the aftermath of the incident, some irate youths set the affected vehicles ablaze, causing further damage.

Personnel of the FRSC, in collaboration with the Police, were immediately deployed to the scene to manage traffic and restore order.

Measures were also put in place to ensure the free flow of traffic and prevent additional incidents.

Longkam expressed concern over the crash and urged motorists to exercise caution, particularly on roads under construction.

He advised drivers to obey traffic regulations and avoid actions that could escalate emergency situations.

The FRSC boss added that investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, reaffirming the command’s commitment to road safety.
