King Charles III and Queen Camilla on Wednesday formally received President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at Windsor Castle.
The arrival was captured in videos shared on X by the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun.
President Tinubu was accorded a 42-gun salute by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, as both royal and Nigerian flags lined the streets of Windsor.
Olusegun wrote: “King Charles III and Queen Camilla officially received President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at Windsor Castle. They were presented to the Royal Family by the Prince and Princess of Wales.
They were treated to a 42-gun salute by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery.”
The two-day visit, hosted by the British monarch, is expected to strengthen bilateral ties, with several partnerships and memoranda of understanding anticipated.
A state banquet is scheduled for Wednesday evening at St George’s Hall, with King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales expected in attendance.
