Preparations have reached an advanced stage for the wedding ceremony of nine children of the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
An invitation card for the event, which has been circulating widely on social media, was sighted by our correspondent on Saturday. The card, which bears the minister’s photograph, indicates that the ceremonies will hold at the Abuja Central Mosque at 1:30 p.m. on February 6.
The children listed on the invitation are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi and Farida.
Confirming the development, the All Progressives Congress (APC) spokesperson in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, said the nine children comprise five sons and four daughters.
“By the grace of God, the ceremony will be conducted at the Abuja Central Mosque on February 6,” Idris said. “The minister’s children who are getting married are five sons and four daughters.
“I am a member of the committee for this occasion, and arrangements have reached an advanced stage to ensure a smooth and successful ceremony in Abuja,” he added.
