Families on Saturday evacuated their children from the Federal Government Girls’ College (FGGC) Bwari, on the outskirts of Abuja, amid rising security concerns in the area.
The atmosphere outside the school gate was tense, as anxious parents arrived with bags in hand, helping their children gather their belongings and preparing to return home. Many students — some still dressed in their uniforms — loaded suitcases into vehicles, while others supported classmates who were packing in haste.

The federal government had on Friday ordered the immediate shutdown of 47 Federal Unity Colleges across the country, including FGGC Bwari. The directive was issued through a circular signed by the Director of Senior Secondary Education, Binta Abdulkadir.
