Tinubu nominates Kingsley Ude from Enugu as minister

Kingsley Ude
President Bola Tinubu has written to the Senate seeking the screening and confirmation of Dr. Kingsley Tochukwu Ude, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) from Enugu State, as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The letter was read on the Senate floor by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Tuesday’s plenary. Following the announcement, Senator Akpabio referred Ude’s nomination to the Committee of the Whole for further consideration and screening.

The nomination comes in the wake of the resignation of Uche Nnaji, the former Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, who stepped down last month amid controversy over his academic and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) credentials. Nnaji’s resignation left Enugu State without representation in President Tinubu’s cabinet.

Dr. Ude, a seasoned lawyer, currently serves as Enugu State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. He was recently elevated to the distinguished rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), marking a significant milestone in his legal career.
