The Federal Government has officially announced the theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebration in 2025.
This was revealed in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The chosen theme, “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” underscores the critical need for unity, collaboration, and patriotism across all sectors — including government institutions, the private sector, civil society, and the citizenry — to promote peace, prosperity, and sustainable national development.
According to the government, the theme reflects Nigeria’s enduring resilience since gaining independence in 1960. It also highlights the importance of building on past achievements while striving toward higher national aspirations under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
All government agencies and stakeholders are encouraged to align their programmes and initiatives with the anniversary theme to ensure its message is effectively communicated across all levels of society.
As part of activities marking the 65th Independence anniversary, a Juma’at prayer will be held on Friday, September 26, followed by an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28.
Celebrations will also feature a World Press Conference on Monday, September 29, in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
