Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has suspended Dr. Caulson Oahimire, the Executive Secretary of the Edo Primary Healthcare Development Agency, over alleged financial misconduct.
The suspension was announced in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, on Tuesday in Benin, the state capital.
The statement outlined that the most senior staff of the agency would assume temporary leadership until a special committee is formed to investigate the allegations.
“The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has ordered the immediate suspension of Dr. Caulson Osoikhia Oahimire, Executive Secretary of the Edo State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, due to serious financial and official infractions,” the statement read.
It added that the senior staff would act in an interim capacity pending the outcome of the investigation.
