Inter defeat Bayern 2–1 in Champions League quarter-final

Inter Milan secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich in a thrilling UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday, taking a valuable away win in Germany.

Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring for the visitors in the 38th minute, finishing off a precise assist from Marcus Thuram. Inter maintained their lead into halftime, with Bayern unable to break them down in the first 45 minutes.

Bayern Munich responded strongly in the second half, leveling the score in the 85th minute through veteran Thomas Müller, who capitalized on a smart assist from Konrad Laimer to bring the Allianz Arena to life.

However, Inter wasted no time in regaining the lead. Just three minutes later, Davide Frattesi scored the match-winner in the 88th minute, tapping in from a Carlos Augusto assist to silence the Bayern supporters.

Frattesi, who was later booked in the 90th minute, was pivotal in securing the win for Inter, while Bayern struggled to find another equalizer. The game also saw yellow cards for Nicola Zalewski, Lautaro Martínez, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan for Inter, and Kim Min-jae for Bayern.

With this important away win, Inter Milan now hold a strong advantage going into the second leg, leaving Bayern Munich with a tough task ahead if they are to progress to the semi-finals.
