A tanker explosion early Tuesday morning claimed the lives of two individuals in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The tragic incident occurred around 5:00 am near Gabster Mega Petrol Station, Orita Challenge, in Oluyole Local Government Area.
Eyewitnesses reported that the victims, identified as the tanker driver and his assistant, were trapped in the blaze and were burned beyond recognition.
One source revealed that the fire service, with assistance from security personnel, worked tirelessly to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby commercial and residential areas.
Moroof Akinwande, Special Adviser on Fire Services Reform to Governor Seyi Makinde and Chairman of the State Fire Services Agency, confirmed the incident. He stated, “We received the distress call at 5:15 am and immediately responded. The situation is now under control.”
