Ned Nwoko denies marriage, pregnancy rumours with Chika Ike

Chika Ike, Ned Nwoko
Senator Ned Nwoko, representing the Delta North senatorial district, has dismissed rumours that he intends to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike or that he is the father of her alleged unborn child.

Earlier today, speculation grew after Nwoko’s wife, Regina Daniels, deactivated her Instagram account, which seemed to fuel further rumours of a rift within their marriage.

However, a statement from the Director of Communications in the Office of Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko refuted these claims. “Our attention has been drawn to recent false rumours alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife, and that she is pregnant with his child,” the statement read. “We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and nothing more than malicious speculation.”

The senator also addressed unfounded reports suggesting that he had made comments supporting Tuface’s marriage to Edo lawmaker Natasha Osawuru. “Reports claiming he made statements about Tuface and polygamy are completely untrue. As a public figure, and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for bloggers to fabricate such stories in a bid for attention.”

Amid the controversy, Chika Ike has not yet commented on the rumours.

“Senator Nwoko is currently engaged in national duties, focusing on fulfilling his political mandate, and has no time for such distractions,” the statement added. “This office remains available to journalists for verification, and we urge media practitioners to be cautious of spreading fake news. The public is advised to disregard these unfounded rumours and rely solely on official statements from his office.”
